The location is great, staff were attentive & very accommodating & the room spacious & clean.

The gym was disappointing located in a room in the basement with limited equipment and no air conditioning. Husband located a public gym to use in the local environment.

Absolutely Disgusted At The Disgraceful Service
Pros:

When we were planning our group trip to Vietnam I told our travel agent to book us into Rex Hanoi Hotel. My wife & I stayed here in 2019 and loved it.
Fast forward 7 years and we arrived today. Sadly in that time my wife has developed massive mobility issues. She requires the use of a walker to get around, and can't get into a bathtub. Accordingly, our agent booked us a room with a walk in shower. She confirmed this again with Rex earlier this week.
Upon check-in we were allocated a decent sized room with space for our two large suitcases. However, the shower was over the bathtub - impossible for my wife to use.
So we requested an appropriate room. The next room we were allocated was tiny... I mean tiny. No luggage shelf, or even room to place a portable one. You couldn't even stand the suitcases and be able to walk around. The room barely had space to walk around the bed. So we were shown a third room. This was of a similar size to the first one and had a walkin shower. We accepted this. But then came the kicker... 500,000 vnd per night for the "upgrade" to the room type we originally requested & booked.
No matter how I explained the unfairness of this, they remain steadfast that we pay for this bull💩 upgrade!
This is nothing short of an upsell scam, based around their error in allocating us an inappropriate room in the first place.
It is so sad to see a hotel that had wonderful service only 7 years deteriorate to such a low standard. I am embarrassed that the rest of our group are staying here in this dreadful hotel as a result of my insistence we book Rex Hanoi Hotel.
Please avoid this place. There are much better options within the wonderful old quarter of Hanoi.

Great location, friendly and helpful staff. Well appointed, good sized rooms. Extensive breakfast spread, wonderful view. Reasonable indoor pool. Rooftop bar!

Cons:

Small gripes: Very hot gym room. No pool towels and not much space around pool. No shade on roof terrace.

J'ai tout aimé...l'emplacement...le cadre...les petit-déjeuners très copieux avec une équipe en Salle "aux petits soins"...les Dîners au Restaurant de l'Hôtel avec la Serveuse (Maya) très sympathique et extrêmement Professionnelle...les Coktails au Sky Bar...tout était (au millimètre)...et Magique !!!
Je recommande vivement cet établissement où absolument tout le personnel est très agréable et très respectueux !!!...Encore toutes mes Félicitations à toutes et tous...et c'est avec beaucoup de regrets que je quitte cet Hôtel...mais je reviendrai...peut-être même dès l'année prochaine !!!...Merci encore pour ces 4 jours "de rêves" !!

Great location, staff were really lovely, good breakfast. Pillows were great

Cons:

The property was quite dated and it was a shame they now only have an indoor pool and no outdoor pool. The shower was mostly cold and we could never have a warm shower and the aircon was broken in our room if you wanted to switch between aircon and fan only mode. The bed was a little uncomfortable

Saatiin ekaksi huone missä ei ollut kaupunkinäkymää, mikä oli luvattu. Mutta huoneen vaihto sujui sit kun elokuvassa kun asiasta mainittiin. Terassibaarissa ei ollut kunnon viinitarjontaa mitä myös kaipasin!
