At the rear of our room on a grass bank was a lot of dumped wood which completely looked like eyesore, wasn't very nice sitting on the decking looking at it. Also paving slabs leaning up against the wall.
The view from the roon was beautiful as well as the cute terraces. Breakfast was amazing and rather cheap for a hotel.
The location was perfect for what I needed.

For the price it was easily above expectations. The staff were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble. Compared to the stay I had at the Methuen Arms at more than twice the cost per day it was exceptional and highly recommended.
Everything from the room, the balcony, the view from the room, cleanliness and staff was far above what I had expected fir the daily rate.
The location was lovely. The restaurant was good. The husband enjoyed a hefty breakfast . The two female staff we met were great fun and very efficient. The room was good size ( just as well as there were a lot of cushions) It was nice to be able to sit out on the balcony . as the weather was perfect.
The slope of the car park made us feel drunk! You get used to it. The steps up to the reception were really steep. We have slight walking difficulties - I also can’t walk up stairs easily. The road was fast and quite noisy and the church bell bonged randomly day and night. You get used to it. The restaurant was good . The only quibble was the menu didn’t vary so my choice was repeated, My meal was delicious but the portions were huge! I felt guilty leaving so much but was full!
Food and lovely staff
Staff were really friendly and helpful. Manager Liv gave us tips on the area and greeted us on arrival and on leaving. We had a great dinner and breakfast. Highly recommend staying here. We had a balcony with a lovely view, we purchased drinks at the bar and sat on our balcony. The scrambled eggs at breakfast were so good. Good location with lots of free parking. Very large garden that would be great for families. Locals were very friendly too and advised us how to get to a local waterfall.
Nothing we didn't like, we really enjoyed it here.

Our room overlooked a wonderful view. The room itself was extremely spacious and particularly well appointed. We took both lunch and dinner at the property. The food was good except for the mussels, which had been cooked in a very spicy curry sauce, which overwhelmed the mussels. Breakfast was excellent with a generous proportion of everything comprising both the Full English and the Light English. We had stayed in Room 4 on a previous occasion and were very glad to see that none of the high standards in any aspect of the property had slipped.
