Really great restaurant, comfortable beds, good location, modern facilities
The service left a lot to be desired. The employee at the front desk made check-in feel like an inconvenience for her. At checkout, I asked if they could store my luggage for a few hours—a pretty standard request and a service they offer—but it was treated like an annoyance. The staff came across as unhelpful, which really put a damper on my stay. Unfortunately, customer service can make or break a place, and in this case, it definitely broke it.
I love the bed the room I wish you would’ve had a microwave but everything overall was fantastic. I love Starbucks being close in the restaurant downstairs is really good.
I do wish that being such an upscale hotel they would’ve had robes in the room like some other hotels that was it
Neat rooms you don’t see a lot of in other hotels
The tv was glitching on the live tv part but worked fine when I screen shared
it was located close to the Art Museum, the main attraction we were interested in visiting.
Breakfast was not included. Task lighting was not adequate.
Fresh, quirky, contemporary escape! We truly appreciate what Hotel Vance had to offer.
From the moment we walked in (thank you Trey) until check-out, we had a top-notch experience.
We enjoyed our corner king suite - which had good views from all three windows. The room itself was large, clean and had a cool industrial aesthetic. The bed was extremely comfortable and the blackout blinds superb!
Hotel Vance is located downtown Portland, and is within walking distance to many restaurants, businesses, grocery stores, museums, The Keller auditorium, etc.
The onsite restaurant,"Vance and Vines" is worth a visit as well. (Thank you Claudean and Michael).
We will definitely return.
The Vance is very well located for getting around Portland, and it’s an easy, fun hotel. The decor is uncluttered, featuring huge graphics in rooms and elevator lobbies so it feels ultra modern. Tile and finished concrete are unlike carpeted rooms, which always feel dirty, so everything feels nice and clean.
We want to commend Andrew at the front desk, who is friendly, efficient and able to give advice and directions.
Great public transport options are an easy walk away and in and out parking is super convenient (though it costs $50 a day).
There’s a Starbucks right off the lobby and a restaurant/bar in the hotel.
I liked the staff, they were very friendly, professional and unique. They seemed to have a "Portland vibe" about them, the maid in particular went out of her way to be of service. I really liked her!
I liked the room, with a somewhat brutalist design. It was very cool.
The location, the ambiance, and felt very secure. Comfy beds. Starbucks is also next door which is convenient. Staff is super friendly!
The shower does not close or have a curtain so it does splash and get water on the ground. Also the steam doesn’t vent very much after taking a shower but the heated mirror that doesn’t fog is a nice touch. Honestly very minor overall not a big deal. Everything else was wonderful!
The property advertises an in-house restaurant but it was closed for a “management update” for the duration of my week-long stay.
