The 25 Fontes Levada Walk (PR6) is one of Madeira’s most famous and beautiful hikes. Starting in Rabaçal, the trail takes you through the lush Laurissilva Forest and alongside Madeira’s traditional levadas – historic irrigation channels that carry water across the island.
Along the way, you will discover rich native vegetation and beautiful natural scenery before reaching the highlight of the hike: the famous 25 Fontes lagoon, where numerous natural springs and waterfalls cascade down the rock walls into a beautiful lagoon.
Surrounded by the unique landscapes of Madeira’s Laurissilva Forest, this hike is a wonderful way to experience the island’s nature and its famous levada trails.

From Rabaçal, we start the PR6 Levada das 25 Fontes hike, one of Madeira's most popular walking trails. The route takes us through the Laurissilva Forest to the beautiful 25 Fontes lagoon and waterfall.
