Experience Sian Ka’an at sunrise, one of the most peaceful times to explore the reserve. Paddle through quiet lagoons and mangrove channels as the wetlands come to life and birds begin their morning activity.
Travel in a small group with a local kayak guide, away from the crowds, while learning about the mangrove ecosystem, wildlife and paddling techniques. No previous kayaking experience is required.
What to bring: At least 1 liter of water per person, sun protection, sandals or water shoes, towel, and optional snacks.
3.2 km (2 miles) inside the Sian Ka’an Biosphere Reserve, driving south from the main entrance. Look for the Yucatan Outdoors / Kayak Sian Ka’an sign on the lagoon side of the road, behind the Último Maya restaurant. Free parking is available at the meeting point.
