They will enjoy a panoramic road offering impressive views of the arid valleys, traditional Berber villages and rock formations typical of southern Morocco. It’s a great time to admire the scenery, take pictures and discover the transition between the mountains and the gates of the Saharan desert.
Travellers will stop at the Tizgui Waterfalls, a small natural gem nestled in the Anti-Atlas Mountains. They will be able to admire the beauty of the site, enjoy the calm of nature and take great photos in a wild and authentic setting. It’s a refreshing break in the heart of a mountainous landscape before continuing the drive to the Draa Valley and the desert.
Travellers will pass through the charming town of Agdz, located in the heart of the Drâa Valley, known for its magnificent palm groves and spectacular desert landscapes. It is an emblematic stop on the ancient caravan route linking southern Morocco to the Sahara. They can admire the contrasts between the Anti-Atlas Mountains and the greenery of the oasis, while discovering an authentic and preserved Morocco.
Travellers will have a lunch break in Zagora, in a traditional riad with swimming pool, offering a relaxing moment in the heart of the Drâa Valley. A Moroccan lunch will be served in a quiet and authentic setting. Towels are provided to allow guests to freely enjoy the pool before heading back to the desert.
Travellers will reach M’Hamid, the last village before the Sahara and the end of the paved road. From there, the adventure continues by 4x4 vehicle through the desert tracks for about 35 minutes to the bivouac located at the dunes of Erg Lihoudi. On arrival, a camel ride of about an hour is offered at sunset, offering a magical view of the dunes. The evening continues with a traditional dinner and a comfortable night in a bivouac at the foot of the dunes, in an authentic and peaceful atmosphere under the stars.
Travellers will discover M’Hamid, the last village before the desert, as well as its traditional adobe kasbahs. These ancient houses testify to the Saharan architecture and the way of life of the old caravan roads. It is an authentic immersion in the history and culture of southern Morocco, at the gates of the Sahara.
Travellers will visit the village of Tamegroute, famous for its artisanal pottery workshops with famous green enamels. They will also discover the Koranic library, which houses valuable ancient manuscripts, as well as the traditional kilns used for making pottery. A must-see cultural stop in the Drâa Valley.
