Roots of the Valley is much more than a tour of three destinations; it is an experience designed to discover the essence of the Valle del Cauca in a single day.

You will start your day with a typical breakfast in the city of Buga and a tour aboard a colorful mini goat for its main historical, cultural and religious attractions. Afterwards, you’ll travel to the heart of the sugarcane tradition to visit the Hacienda Piedechinche, an architectural gem with more than 300 years of history, and the Museo de la Caña, one of the most important open-air museums in Colombia.

The experience ends with a calambuco ride between the canyons, a traditional activity that allows you to enjoy the rural landscape in an authentic way.

This tour combines heritage, gastronomy, history, nature and culture in a carefully designed itinerary so you know the roots that gave identity to the Cauca Valley, accompanied by expert local guides, safely and comfortably.

What to expect

Start your adventure with the pick-up in Cali and enjoy a panoramic tour to the city of Buga. There you will taste a delicious breakfast before touring its main attractions aboard a colorful mini goat, including the Basilica of the Lord of Miracles, the Religious Museum and the most emblematic places of its historic center. During the tour you can also enjoy some traditional flavors of the region and have free time to make purchases.

Then we will continue to the Hacienda Piedechinche, a historic colonial hacienda with more than 300 years of history, where you will know how the farm families of the Valle del Cauca lived. Then you will tour the Museo de la Caña, one of the most important open-air museums in Colombia, discovering ancient trapiches, gardens and the history of the sugar industry.

The experience includes a typical lunch and ends with a fun calambuco ride between the canyons before returning comfortably to Cali.
