Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park sits right on the edge of Livingstone, Zambia, along the banks of the Zambezi River. What makes it remarkable is what lives inside: a small, protected population of endangered southern white rhinos that you can track on foot.
The tour combines two distinct activities in three hours. First, a game drive along the Zambezi riverine woodland in an open 4x4 — giraffes, zebras, warthogs, antelopes, and depending on the season, elephants and hippos. This is livingstone zambia safari at its most immediate, right on the doorstep of the town.
After the game drive and a short rest stop by the river, armed national park rangers join for the walking safari section. On foot, in open bush, tracking white rhinos at close range. Very few places in Africa offer this kind of access this close to a tourism hub.
