Throughout excursion we will find the history of the ancient cities located on the territory of Moldavia, we will hear the history of the Soroca fortress, part of the defensive system of the Moldovan State. 3The Candle of Gratitude Monument
At the beginning of the 2000s, a stone monument in the shape of a candle was erected, which received the name "Badea Mior" monument. The idea and the name of the monument belong to the writer Ion Druţă, who grew up and learned in the lands of Sorocii and who sang this land in many of his works. On March 27, 2004, the inauguration of the Candle of Gratitude monument took place. Here two elements meet: nature and history. The Candle of Gratitude, growing from the depths of our past, represents a tribute to all the anonymous heroes, who preserved the culture, language, and history of Moldova in the polychrome palette of human civilization. It symbolizes our hope and illuminates our path to the future, the path that can only be traveled through creative work, through the power of good.
