What to expect

Become the lead investigator in a self-guided murder mystery game that turns downtown Asheville into your own crime scene. Your case: Bella, a famous travel blogger, was found dead during a ghost tour, and her killer is still somewhere, walking free.

You will start near Pack Square, where the app hands you the case file and your first lead. The trail takes you through downtown, past many local landmarks like the Asheville Art Museum, the Flat Iron Statue, Trinity Episcopal Church and The Orange Peel. At each stop you will investigate your surroundings (inscriptions, statues, plaques, facades, etc.) to solve a puzzle that will reveal a piece of evidence. Every solved puzzle unlocks the instructions for the next chapter, plus some fun historical facts about the locations you're visiting. You can play alone or bring your whole group.

The game can be played all day, any day: just book a ticket and play whenever you want. It ends near the same area where it starts and will take you about 90-120 minutes (including optional coffee breaks that you can take whenever you like). The total walking distance is about 1.5 miles (2.5 km).
