One of the true hidden gems of Rome is the Basilica of San Clemente, a basilica built on top of a church that was converted from an ancient Roman house.
Travel back in time with each level that the tour will go down: from a 12th-century basilica to a 4th-century church to a 3rd-century Mithrauem to finally a Roman house from the Roman Republic era.
The first part of the tour will cover the Basilica, while the second part will descend to Mithrauem and the archeological site.

A three-tiered complex of buildings: a basilica built in the Middle Ages on top of the ruins of a 4th-century church that, in turn, had been converted out of the home of a Roman nobleman. The basilica has a rich history, from the Roman Republic era to a Mithraeum to a church to the present-day minor basilica.
