Then we travel to the magnificent Cabo Girão lookout, which is 580m high and has a glass balcony, famous for being the highest in Europe and the second highest cliff in the world.
Traveling along the coast of the island we quickly reach the village of Ribeira Brava, where we can visit a church dating from the 15th century.
Then, we head to the Encumeada viewpoint, 1007m high, to enjoy beautiful views overlooking the north and south coast of the island and also to the valleys of Ribeira Brava and São Vicente.
Stop for lunch and extra time in the coastal town of Porto Moniz - home to the largest volcanic natural pools in Madeira. On our descent towards the city we can enjoy fantastic views, especially from the volcanic pools in their entirety. In good weather it is possible to take a dip, so come prepared.
Then we make a brief stop overlooking the black sand beach and natural pools of the village of Seixal Along the way, we are pleased to pass by several waterfalls, namely the famous and stunning waterfall of Véu da Noiva. Looking at the water coming down from the mountain, you can see how the face of the rock has been delicately sculpted by the wind and rain for millions of years to form what can only be described as the perfect art form.
Next, we visit the picturesque neighboring village of São Vicente, where you can visit a beautiful 17th century church before returning to Funchal.
Located 5 km from the city of Funchal, our first stop is the picturesque and famous fishing village of Câmara de Lobos; a favorite painting spot by Winston Churchill!
