Leave the city behind for the forested Mae On mountains on a private day tour from Chiang Mai with your own car and English speaking driver/guide. Begin at the Teen Tok Royal Project Development Center, where highland farming of Arabica coffee, mushrooms and other crops has helped build sustainable livelihoods in the mountains.
Continue to Mae Kampong, one of Chiang Mai's best-known mountain villages, with wooden houses, local cafés, a cool climate and a stream running through it, long known for its miang tea culture. Visit the peaceful village temple, Wat Khantha Phueksa, then take a short nature stop at the multi-level Mae Kampong Waterfall above the village, and slow down over locally grown tea or coffee before heading back.
The car is yours alone, so the day moves at your pace. The village has narrow, sloping lanes, so wear comfortable shoes. Entrance fees, food and drinks are not included.
Your Welcome Pickups driver will meet you at your selected pickup location at the scheduled time and will wait for up to 30 minutes after pickup time. If you experience any delays, please contact your driver as soon as possible using the contact details provided before your tour.
