We start with a pick-up directly from your hotel and drive 2 hours to Curtea de Argeș, followed by a short stop for coffee, snacks, and a leg stretch.

Next we drive 30 minutes to Poenari Fortress (The Real Dracula's Castle) the ultimate challenge—climbing 1,480 steps (approx. 45 mins) through the forest.

At the top, explore the authentic ruins built by Vlad the Impaler and enjoy breathtaking panoramic views.

After we drive 10 minutes to Vidraru Dam, a massive 1960s engineering marvel and its stunning 16 km long lake, bordering the Făgăraș National Park. Next we’ll enjoy a delicious lunch at Treehouse Village, a charming restaurant hidden in nature.

Note: Keep your eyes open! There is a high chance of spotting wild brown bears safely from the car along this mountain road. On the way bach we stop to Curtea de Argeș Monastery and visit the former capital of Wallachia to see the beautiful royal monastery where Romania’s Kings and Queens are buried.

After we return to Bucharest.
