Meeting and pickup
Complimentary private pickup and drop-off are available from any hotel, apartment, guesthouse, villa, Airbnb, port, Amílcar Cabral International Airport (SID), or any other location on Sal Island at a time agreed with you.
If your accommodation is not listed during booking, simply send us the name or address after your reservation, and we'll arrange your private pickup accordingly.
Your native certified guide will be easy to identify, wearing an official Sal Experiences uniform and ID badge, and carrying a clearly visible yellow Sal Experiences sign when required.
What to expect
After pickup from your preferred location anywhere on Sal Island, travel to Shark Bay on the island's east coast, home to a natural nursery for juvenile lemon sharks.
Accompanied by your private guide, safely walk through the shallow, knee-deep waters as young lemon sharks, typically measuring between 50 cm and 1 metre, swim freely around you in their natural habitat. With a little luck, you may also spot larger adult lemon sharks from a safe distance.
During the visit, your guide will explain the sharks' behaviour, life cycle and ecological importance, offering a fascinating insight into one of Cape Verde's most remarkable marine species.
Water shoes are included, and because this is a private tour, you'll enjoy a relaxed pace, personalised attention and the flexibility to spend as much time as you wish observing these incredible animals before returning to your accommodation.
