1Kampong Phluk Floating Village
Kampong Phluk is a historic commune of three stilted villages located on the floodplain of the Tonlé Sap Lake in Cambodia, famous for its houses built on massive wooden stilts that reach up to 30 feet (9 meters) high. The name translates literally from Khmer to mean "Harbor of the Tusks," referencing a local legend about a historical elephant harbor. Founded over a century ago as a traditional fishing settlement, the community is a prime example of extreme architectural and cultural adaptation to Southeast Asia’s most dramatic hydrological phenomenon.

3Tonle Sap Lake
