It is one of the most beautiful walks in the Dordogne valley that combines discovery of built and natural heritage. It is one of the most beautiful villages in France overlooking the Dordogne valley. It has retained the charm of traditional villages with its stone houses covered with tiles. Two of the gates of the medieval village are preserved, special care is given to flowering which beautifies even more the alleys of Loubressac.
We will have from the cliff a plunging view of the village of Autoire nestled in a remote Jurassic. We will go down to see along the cliff the English castle and we will see from above the superb waterfall that is at the end of the limestone circus.
It is a roca, in other words a castle built along the cliff as many found in the Middle Ages in Quercy and Perigord. It was used during the Hundred Years War but the texts speak of it well before that date.
