Bom Jesus do Monte Funicular If selected and available, ascend by the historic Bom Jesus Funicular, opened in 1882 and celebrated as the world’s oldest water-powered funicular still in operation. Working as counterbalance of one another, both go up and downhill alternately and simultaneously along two parallel tracks over a course of 274 meters.
