Discover the Lacandon Jungle on a 2-day shared tour from Palenque that combines Mayan sites, an overnight stay in a cabin, and a guided jungle hike.

On the first day you will travel to Frontera Corozal to take the boat to Yaxchilán and then visit Bonampak. When finished, you will have free time and will spend the night in a cabin in the Lacanjá community.

On the second day you will explore the jungle on foot with a guide and visit the waterfalls of the Mactuniná River before returning to Palenque. The experience includes air-conditioned transportation, one night of accommodation, two breakfasts, one dinner, and one lunch.

An option for those who want to combine archaeology and nature with more time to get to know the region. The hike requires moderate physical fitness.

    The archaeological zone of Yaxchilan, one of the most representative of the Mayan culture, whose origin, splendor and decline left its mark in multiple testimonies that continue to surprise both researchers and tourists in general. Exploits of rulers, ritual ceremonies, daily life, are some of the episodes recorded in various series of hieroglyphs, many of which still await patient investigations by experts who can open new windows to the past.

    Zona Arqueologica de Bonampak

    Bonampak, is located in the Lacandon jungle of Chiapas, in the Lacanhá river valley; its extension is more than four square kilometers. The main buildings were built on a chain of hills that run through the center of the valley, from the Sierra de la Cojolita to the river bank.
