Step into the world's oldest rainforests - Taman Negara estimated to be over 130 million years old. This lush tropical paradise is home to majestic wildlife as in tigers, elephants, tapirs....over 14,000 plants (medicinal, poisonous and aphrodisiacs varieties), more than 300 bird species. Scattered within are small aboriginal (Orang Asli) villages - a rare glimpse into a disappearing way of life shaped by nature and traditions.

Itinerary

Duration: 10 to 12 hours (approximately)

    One day @ the Rainforest Step into the world's 130 million years old tropical rainforest with endangered tigers, elephants, tapirs ... medicinal and poisonous plants and elusive aphrodisiacs. 6am Leave Kuala Lumpur hotel. Breakfast along the way. 9.30am Arrival @ Kuala Tahan. Nature Guide begins exciting jungle trekking to viewpoint to see grand view of Malaysia's highest mountain -Gunung Tahan @ 7175 feet (2187meters), Come in good track shoes. 11am Catch a boat for a rapids shooting adventure to the aborigine village. Learn about the tribe's ancient skills of fire making and blowpipe hunting, and take part in those actitivies. The aborigines will soon be no more due to rehabilitation and deforestation. 12.30pm Guided trek to rainforest waterfalls for a cool dip - a therapeutic stress reliever. (Bonus stop) 2pm Return to Jetty, freshen up. Local lunch @ Floating Cafe On return journey to Kuala Lumpur visit iconic Batu Caves, climb 272 steps into grand Cave temple. End of tour.

    Bonus stop at the iconic Batu Caves Cave temple of Hindu Deity honored during festivals. Climb 272 colorful steps and get a bird's eye view of Kuala Lumpur. Ladies to cover their knees and shoulders when entering the temple. Restaurants serve only vegetarian foods. The statue of Hindu Deity @ 140 feet is mesmerizing.
