Sardinia is renowned for its naturalistic beauty and its totally uncontaminated nature. In the municipality of Luras, in Gallura, an area rich in places to visit, there is the area of ancient olive trees. The grandfather of all the olive trees is very impressive: it has a circumference of about 12 meters (measured at 1.3 meters in height), a 4.5 meter base diameter and the huge crown covering an area of about 600 square meters. The millennial olive tree of Luras was declared a Natural Monument in 1991 by the UNESCO and became part of the “20 Italian secular trees” to be protected. (facoltative entrance € 2.50 pp extra charge).

Unique Museum in a Typical House of the North Sardinia. The museum is spread over all three floors, in halls which accurately portray the typical environments of local culture between the late 1600s and the first half of the 20th century. But mostly here you'll know more about the Legend of the "Femina Accabadora", the Lady of the Good Death, the Original and probably the last Wooden Hummer that she was using, practiced an ancient form of euthanasia, a piteous act towards the dying person... This is the "city of stone", a place to relax among parks, springs and the health-giving mountain air. In central Gallura, at the foot of Mount Limbara, (the second highest mountain of Sardinia) Tempio Pausania is a large town of 14,000 inhabitants with a picturesque old town of granite buildings and paving. The tradition here still very strong, food wine and sharing good time with the family is a must for the local. Piazza Faber (Square Faber) is dedicated to Fabrizio De André, one of the most important Italian singer who lived just outside of the village. Some local Artist are working the Cork in it's finest way: making the Dressing for the Bride using the fiber of this plant!

The Nuraghe Majori had a village around, where daily life took place. The stone huts had a roof usually made of trunks and branches; unfortunately the area hasn’t been affected yet by archeological excavations. This construction is characterized by massive walls exploited only minimally, with smaller spaces within. This is the reason why they appear squatter compared to the elegance and monumentality of the tholos ones. In this region, as well as in other parts of Sardinia, he Nuragic Civilization developed during the Middle Bronze Age (1600 b.C.) and it lasted until Carthaginians arrived, in VI century B.C. The word “Nuragic” comes from the most characteristic monument of Sardinia: the Nuraghe. There are about 8000 Nuraghes, a great number if we think that the isle is about 24000 Km2! Facoltative entrance € 3 per person extra charge
