    Lago Sandoval

Reception at our office before heading to the boat for a scenic 40-minute journey along the Madre de Dios River. Upon arrival at the Tambopata National Reserve, a short 5-minute transfer leads to the entrance of Sandoval Lake. We begin a 3 km walk (approx. 1 hour) along a well-maintained trail and wooden bridge through pristine rainforest. Along the way, we may encounter up to four species of monkeys, snakes, tarantulas, parrots, tropical birds, and other mammals. At the lake, a canoe takes us to our lodge to explore Sandoval Lake, spotting herons, caimans, and the impressive giant otter, emblematic of Madre de Dios. At 1:00 p.m., enjoy a traditional Amazon lunch with Luis and his family, featuring juane and regional drinks. Relax in hammocks before continuing wildlife observation. Around 4:00 p.m., return by boat to Puerto Maldonado.
