Your Machu Picchu adventure begins early, with hotel pickup in Cusco between 6:00 and 6:30 a.m. As you leave the city behind, you’ll journey through the spectacular Sacred Valley of the Incas, surrounded by towering mountains and changing Andean landscapes. You’ll make a short 20-minute stop in Ollantaytambo, an ancient Inca town, before continuing by van through the Andes to Hidroelectrica, where you’ll stop for lunch. After lunch, your adventure continues on foot. You’ll walk approximately 11 km for 3 hours along the railway tracks to Aguas Calientes, surrounded by lush vegetation, dramatic mountains, and Andean scenery. As you approach Aguas Calientes, the gateway to Machu Picchu, the excitement of your upcoming visit begins to build. Upon arrival, you’ll check in at your hostel and have time to rest or visit the Aguas Calientes hot springs, where you can relax before discovering Machu Picchu the following day.

2Machu Picchu
Your day begins early as you make your way to the legendary Machu Picchu citadel. You can reach the entrance by shuttle bus (US$12 per person) or walk uphill for approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes, surrounded by lush Andean scenery. As you enter Machu Picchu, your professional guide will bring the ancient Inca sanctuary to life. During your guided tour, you’ll discover its impressive temples, terraces, history, and traditions while taking in the breathtaking mountain scenery. Your visit inside Machu Picchu will last up to 3 hours, following the designated circuit and current entrance regulations. After your visit, you’ll return to Aguas Calientes by shuttle bus or on foot before boarding your scheduled tourist train to Ollantaytambo. From there, your transportation will be waiting to take you through the scenic Andes back to Cusco, marking the end of your Machu Picchu adventure.
