Lyon, France

2 hours (approximately)
Offered in: English and 1 more

❄️ We have air conditioning! ❄️

Lyon is surrounded by three of France's greatest wine regions, but most tastings don't reflect that. Our comparative tastings always do.

Every session is led by a professional sommelier with years of industry experience, in a private historic loft with a maximum of 10 guests.

The format is a shared table, not a guided tour, which means the conversation is shaped by the people in the room.

The wines rotate, but they are always sourced from small artisanal producers across Beaujolais, Burgundy, and the Northern Rhône.

Example Menu

Main

5 Glasses of Wine

We always start with Crémant de Bourgogne before discovering Beaujolais, Burgundy, and the Northern Rhône. We'll throw in a wild card too!

Meeting and pickup

Meeting point

The 12 looks like a 19, enter the big wooden door. At the end of the hallway press the button CONNER, and come up one flight of stairs to find the apartment. Please do not be early or late! This neighborhood is on top of a hill, so please take a moment to plan your journey here so you are on time.

End point
This activity ends back at the meeting point.

What to expect

Every day at 3pm, and we have air conditioning ❄️

Lyon sits at the crossroads of 3 of France's greatest wine regions. In this 2-hour tasting, you'll explore all of them, led by a professional sommelier in a restored 1800s silk factory loft in the historic Croix-Rousse, steps from the center of town.

Seated together around a table, you'll taste 5 wines selected from small-production winemakers across Beaujolais, Burgundy, and the Northern Rhône. Your sommelier will guide the tasting, but the session is shaped just as much by your group's questions and curiosity. Every tasting is different!

The wines rotate to reflect what's best from Beaujolais, Burgundy, and the Northern Rhône, chosen from small, artisanal producers you won't find in a supermarket. The format is a table, not a tour. 10 seats max, which means you get real time with your expert sommelier, and conversation flows with the wine. We pair that with a board of local cheese, charcuterie, and bread from the neighborhood.
