Our hiking groups are small and limited to a maximum of 6 persons to ensure a personal experience with greater opportunity to engage and interact with your tour guide.
Hike Table Mountain, one of the most recognizable mountains in the world and one of the New Seven Natural Wonders, and experience the unique flora found only in the southwestern Cape, commonly known as fynbos—the smallest and richest of the six floral kingdoms on Earth, with many species of proteas, ericas and restios.
Also unique to Table Mountain is the elusive ghost frog, a rare species endemic to the mountain. Keep an eye out for the old cable car ruins, and just beyond them you’ll find the famous diving board—a striking rock ledge that juts out and offers incredible photo opportunities for those without a fear of heights, but not recommended on windy days.

What to expect

Our hike up Table Mountain via Kasteelspoort begins at Kloof Nek car park, around 200m above sea level. In the early morning, the route is shaded by the mountain, making it an ideal hiking Table Mountain choice on hot summer days. The trail follows the famous Pipe Track, a contour path above Camps Bay along the western slopes of Table Mountain, offering spectacular coastal views.
After roughly an hour, we leave the main trail and veer left onto a path that traverses diagonally across and beneath the Twelve Apostles, part of the Table Mountain range. Entering the ravine, the route gradually zig-zags upward through Kasteelspoort, with steeper sections involving light scrambling and the occasional use of hands on rock, though nothing overly technical.
Eventually, we reach the back plateau of Table Mountain—but the journey continues. The trail undulates across valleys, includes a few short ladder sections, and finally leads to the upper cable car station by late morning. This classic hiking Table Mountain route via Kasteelspoort combines scenery, adventure, and rewarding summit access.
