From our check-in facility on Indian Route 6098, a shaded, cushioned open-air 4x4 tour truck takes you on a six-mile off-road drive across Navajo Nation land. At Horseshoe Bend, the truck reaches within about 100 meters of the rim; a quarter-mile round-trip walk over sandstone brings you to the edge, 1,000 feet above the Colorado River.
