This is the most complete D-Day shore excursion from Le Havre and the only one that includes an WWII expert guide, a museum ticket, a freshly made sandwich from a local bakery and two stops most tours never visit.
The Arromanches 360° Cinema opens the day: a 19-minute circular panoramic film combining original 1944 footage with present-day images on nine surrounding screens. No seats. You stand at the center as June 6, 1944 unfolds around you. Nothing prepares you for it.
Longues-sur-Mer follows: the only German coastal gun battery in Normandy where the original 155mm weapons are still in place, still pointing toward the English Channel. No other shared tour from Le Havre includes it.
Then Omaha Beach, the actual sand from Saving Private Ryan. Then the Normandy American Cemetery, where 9,387 white crosses face the sea above the bluffs.
Your expert guide walks you through every stop in English.

At the top of the cliff overlooking Gold Beach, the Arromanches 360° Cinema projects one of the most powerful WWII films ever made — a 19-minute circular panoramic film combining original 1944 footage with present-day images of the same locations, displayed simultaneously on nine screens surrounding the audience. There are no seats. You stand at the center of the circular room as the images of June 6, 1944 unfold around you — the ships, the soldiers, the explosions, the liberation — intercut with the same coastline as it looks today, peaceful and green. The contrast is devastating. It is the single most emotionally effective way to understand what happened on these beaches, and it takes only 19 minutes. The cinema sits directly above the ruins of Mulberry Harbor B, still visible in the bay below — the artificial port the Allies assembled in 12 days to supply the liberation of France. After the film, the view from the clifftop puts everything you have just seen into physical context.
Longues-sur-Mer is the only German coastal gun battery in Normandy where the original weapons are still in place — four 155mm naval guns, each weighing several tons, still pointing toward the English Channel exactly as they were positioned on the morning of June 6, 1944. Every other D-Day gun battery in Normandy has empty concrete bunkers. Here, you walk up to the actual weapons that fired on the Allied fleet during the landing. The scale is extraordinary — the guns are massive, the concrete casemates are intact, and the clifftop position above the sea makes it immediately clear why this battery was one of the most strategically important German defensive positions on the entire Normandy coastline. The battery fired on both the Allied fleet and the artificial Mulberry Harbor at Arromanches — just 6 kilometers to the east — until it was neutralized by British naval bombardment and air strikes on the morning of D-Day.
Afterwards, head to Omaha Beach and pass through 8 kms of the coast of facing the English Channel. Ashore, you will find a sculpture called Les Braves ‘The Braves’ in honor of the soldiers who fought the war. There will be an opportunity to stop for a quick lunch near Omaha Beach.
Next, continue the tour to the Normandy American Cemetery to pay tribute to the fighters of the battle. The visitor center offers a detailed exhibition about the war. This will be our last stop before heading to a 2 hour drive back to the the port or your hotel.
