    Maduru Oya National Park is a peaceful wildlife sanctuary spanning Sri Lanka’s Eastern and Uva Provinces. Covering approximately 58,800 hectares, the park protects tropical dry-zone forests, open grasslands, rocky hills and the catchment areas of several major reservoirs. It is especially renowned for its wild elephant population, while visitors may also encounter sambar deer, spotted deer, water buffalo, wild boar, jackals, monkeys and numerous bird species. Its quiet surroundings and relatively uncrowded safari routes provide an authentic wildlife experience away from Sri Lanka’s busier national parks.
