The KBr Barcelona Photo Center is a space with which the MAPFRE Foundation launches a new phase in its intense dedication to artistic photography, one of its main areas of cultural activity since 2009. With two exhibition spaces, a bookshop, an area for educational activities and a multipurpose auditorium, KBr has become a national and international reference in the field of photography.

Located in the surroundings of Port Olímpic, one of the most representative leisure and enjoyment spaces in Barcelona, KBr offers a programme of exhibitions in which the great masters of photography of the 20th century alternate with internationally renowned contemporary photographers and relevant collections of historical photography.

    From 17 June until 06 September 2026, discover those two exhibitions: Minor White Minor White (Minneapolis, 1908–1976) was a key figure in twentieth-century American photography, both for his innovative body of work and for his role as a teacher and co-founder of the magazine Aperture. He developed a highly personal photographic language, structured in sequences, that remains unparalleled in the history of photography. Joaquín Tusquets de Cabirol. The eloquent form Joaquín Tusquets de Cabirol (Barcelona, 1904–1979), a chemist by profession and a photographer with a perceptive eye, developed a body of work shaped by an aesthetic sensibility nurtured within a culturally engaged family environment. This exhibition, organized by Fundación Mapfre in collaboration with the Fundación Photographic Social Vision, offers a unique view of post–Civil War Catalonia through prints of outstanding technical quality.
