Please provide your ship name and arrival time when booking. Meet at Costa Maya Yellow Cab, about a 15-minute walk outside the port complex. Your guide will hold a sign with your name. The tour departs one hour after ship arrival, so please allow enough time to reach the meeting point.

Your adventure begins just steps from the cruise port as you board an air-conditioned vehicle and head inland on a scenic 1-hour drive. Along the way, you’ll pass through the charming village of Pedro Santos, known for its sweet pineapple plantations. Upon arrival at Chacchoben, you’ll step into the heart of the ancient Mayan world—walk beneath towering ceiba trees, explore well-preserved temples, and learn fascinating insights from your expert guide as the jungle reveals its secrets.

2Zona de Snorkel Mahahual
Arrive on the Caribbean coast of Mahahual and get ready to discover a completely different side of Costa Maya — beneath the water. Board your boat for a guided snorkeling experience along the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef, the world’s second-largest barrier reef system. Enter the turquoise waters and snorkel above colorful coral formations while discovering tropical fish and other marine life. Designed for all experience levels, explore this remarkable underwater ecosystem before returning to your Caribbean beach club in Mahahual.

3Playa Mahahual
Now it’s time to slow down and enjoy Mahahual from the beach. Savor a traditional Mexican lunch with open bar, with the Caribbean Sea just steps away. Then enjoy some free time your way — relax on the beach with a cold drink, take a swim or stroll along Mahahual’s colorful boardwalk and browse the nearby shops. After a day that took you from the ancient Maya world to the Mesoamerican Reef and the beaches of Mahahual, sit back and enjoy the short ride back to Costa Maya Port, just minutes away.

- Weather & Water Activities: This tour operates rain or shine. Please check the forecast and dress appropriately for the day’s weather.
- Snorkeling and other water activities may be modified or restricted due to wind, lightning, or other unsafe weather conditions.
- Wildlife & Marine Life: Chacchoben and the reef are natural environments. Sightings of spider monkeys, tropical birds, fish and other wildlife or marine life cannot be guaranteed.
- Alcohol: Alcoholic beverages are served only to guests 18 years of age or older. Please drink responsibly and in moderation throughout the tour.
- What to Bring: Wear comfortable walking shoes and bring a swimsuit, personal towel, change of clothes, hat and sunscreen. We also recommend bringing some cash for souvenirs and personal purchases.
- Cameras & Tripods: A fee of approximately $5 USD applies to dedicated video cameras and is paid directly at Chacchoben. Tripods are not permitted inside the archaeological site.
- Late Arrivals / No-Shows: Guests who arrive late or fail to show up for their scheduled activity are not eligible for a refund.
- Chacchoben is an outdoor archaeological site. Guests should be comfortable walking along jungle trails with occasional rocks, roots and uneven terrain.
