With a maximum of just 8 guests, the experience stays small and personal, giving you more time with your guide as you learn, ride and make your way across the dunes.

Meeting and pickup
Meet your guide at Restaurante Vid'ah Bistro, located directly on the La Paz Malecón (boardwalk), on Paseo Álvaro Obregón between M. Pineda and Marqués de León. Your exact tour time and easy-to-follow directions will be emailed to you after your reservation is confirmed.
What to expect
Surrounded by towering dunes, cactus-filled desert and spectacular views of the Sea of Cortez, you'll discover one of Baja's most exciting outdoor playgrounds.
Your guide will teach you the basics of sandboarding—similar to snowboarding, but on sand. Start on the smaller dunes, build your confidence and gradually work your way up to the highest peaks. Then ride down, climb back up and do it all over again!
Whether you're trying sandboarding for the first time, sharing the adventure with friends or looking for something fun to do as a family, El Mogote turns an afternoon in the desert into something completely different.
And then comes the grand finale: sunset. Climb the dunes as golden light spreads across the sand and take in spectacular views of the Sea of Cortez and cactus-filled Baja landscape.

- Small Group: This tour is limited to a maximum of 8 guests.
- Sandboarding Experience: No previous sandboarding experience is required. Your guide will teach you the basics before starting on the smaller dunes and gradually progressing to higher slopes.
- What to Wear: Running or closed-toe shoes are recommended. Bring a hat, sunglasses and biodegradable sunscreen. A jacket or sweater is also recommended, especially during winter, as temperatures can feel cooler after sunset.
- Rainy Season & Dune Access: Access to El Mogote depends on road conditions. During the summer rainy season, heavy rain may make the road to the dunes unsafe or inaccessible, and the tour may need to be modified or unable to operate.
- Sunset Conditions: The tour is timed around sunset; however, sunset colors and visibility depend on weather conditions and cannot be guaranteed.
- Tour Photos: Photos taken by your guide during the tour will be emailed to you at no additional cost.
- Meeting Point: Transportation from the meeting point to El Mogote and back is included. Hotel transportation to the meeting point is not included.
- Late Arrivals / No-Shows: Guests who arrive late or fail to show up for their scheduled activity are not eligible for a refund.
- Physical Activity: Sandboarding involves walking and climbing on sand dunes. Participants should be comfortable with moderate physical activity and able to safely follow the guide's instructions.
