Meeting and pickup
Please provide your ship name and arrival time when booking. Meet at Costa Maya Yellow Cab, about a 15-minute walk outside the port complex. Your guide will hold a sign with your name. The tour departs one hour after ship arrival, so please allow enough time to reach the meeting point.

One hour after your cruise arrives at Costa Maya Port, leave the port behind and begin your journey toward Bacalar, passing through Pedro Santos, a living Maya community known for its sweet honey pineapples. Along the way, your guide will share insights into local Maya life and traditions as you travel approximately 70 minutes from Costa Maya to Bacalar.

2Lake Bacalar
Arrive at Bacalar’s famous Seven Color Lagoon and board your pontoon boat for a two-hour adventure across its remarkable shades of turquoise and blue. Cruise across the freshwater lagoon as your guide takes you to some of Bacalar’s most iconic locations, including its cenotes and the historic Pirate Channel. Along the way, enjoy stops to swim in the refreshing waters and experience the lagoon from an entirely different perspective. Back on shore, enjoy an authentic Mexican lunch with refreshing drinks at a local restaurant. After experiencing one of Mexico’s most remarkable freshwater lagoons, sit back, relax and enjoy the approximately 70-minute journey back to Costa Maya Port with plenty of time to return to your cruise.

- Walking Time: Please allow approximately 15 minutes to walk from your cruise ship to the meeting point.
- Tour Duration: The complete experience lasts approximately 5 hours, including round-trip transportation from Costa Maya.
- Rain or Shine: This tour operates rain or shine. Please check the forecast and dress appropriately for the day’s weather.
- Lagoon Conditions: Bacalar is a natural freshwater lagoon, and water color, clarity and conditions may vary depending on weather and environmental factors.
- What to Bring: Bring a swimsuit, towel, comfortable clothing, hat, sunscreen and a change of clothes. We also recommend bringing some cash for gratuities, souvenirs and personal purchases.
- Open Bar: The included open bar offers beer, juice, sodas and bottled water. Alcoholic beverages are served only to guests of legal drinking age. Premium alcoholic beverages are not included.
- Late Arrivals / No-Shows: Guests who arrive late or fail to show up for their scheduled activity are not eligible for a refund.
- Swimming: Guests who choose to swim should be comfortable in the water. Life jackets are provided for the boat tour.
