After meeting your tour conductor, you will begin your journey north aboard the Joetsu Shinkansen Toki in reserved standard‑class seating. Leaving the city behind, the scenery gradually changes from urban landscapes to mountains and rivers as you approach Niigata Prefecture. Depending on departure conditions during peak season, the exact departure and arrival stations (Tokyo or Ueno) will be confirmed in your final tour documents. Upon arrival at Echigo‑Yuzawa Station, you transfer to a chartered bus for the evening’s highlight. Important: Final train details, including exact meeting time and train number, will be confirmed 1 week prior to your tour date and sent via Viator chat. Please check your messages for updates.

From Echigo‑Yuzawa, you will travel by bus for approx. 80 minutes to Nagaoka, home to one of Japan’s most prestigious fireworks festivals. The Nagaoka Fireworks Festival is nationally renowned for its scale, artistry, and emotional storytelling, with enormous fireworks launched over the Shinano River. You will watch the display from a reserved chair seat on the left bank, allowing you to remain seated and comfortable throughout the event while enjoying the full program, including the powerful and moving finale that Nagaoka is famous for. A special bento dinner prepared for the Nagaoka Fireworks is included, allowing you to enjoy your evening meal at the venue. The event proceeds even in light rain; however, severe weather may result in cancellation at the organizers’ discretion. After the fireworks conclude, heavy congestion is expected due to traffic regulations, and departure from the area will take time—this is a normal part of attending such a major national festival.

3Naeba Prince Hotel
After leaving Nagaoka, the bus continues toward Naeba Onsen, with a stated travel time of approximately 120 minutes. Due to festival‑related congestion and road conditions, you can expect to arrive at the hotel after midnight. Although the arrival is late, staying overnight allows you to rest properly instead of returning to Tokyo through the night.

After breakfast at the hotel, you depart Naeba by bus toward Takasaki, for approximately 110 minutes. From Takasaki, you will board the Joetsu Shinkansen Toki in reserved standard‑class seating for your return journey. You may disembark at Omiya if desired before continuing to Tokyo or Ueno. Arrival back in Tokyo or Ueno is scheduled for the late afternoon to early evening (between approximately 15:40 and 18:20), depending on the arranged return train and operational conditions.

- Regarding Cancellations Due to Natural Disasters: As a general rule, the event will be held even in rain; however, in the event that the fireworks festival is canceled or postponed due to unavoidable circumstances, we will cancel the tour if the cancellation is decided before the tour departs, and a full refund will be issued. In such cases, our company will contact the representative by mail and then by phone to notify them of the cancellation (if you do not receive a cancellation notice, please assume that the tour will proceed as planned). Additionally, the decision to cancel may be made on the day of the event, and in such cases, the cancellation notice may be provided on the morning of the tour day. If the fireworks festival is canceled or postponed after the tour has departed, a refund for the equivalent of the viewing seat will be issued, and we will either guide you to an alternative sightseeing location or send you directly to the hotel
- Fireworks viewing is from reserved chair seating on the left bank of the Shinano River. Guests will sit on pipe chairs placed directly on the riverbank ground. Bringing a plastic sheet or newspaper is recommended to place under the chair for belongings.
- Arrival at the fireworks venue will be between approximately 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM to avoid surrounding traffic congestion. As fireworks typically begin around 7:30 PM, guests should expect a long waiting period and are advised to prepare accordingly for heat.
- The walk from the bus parking area to the viewing seats is typically about 10 minutes. After the fireworks end, police traffic control causes significant congestion, and it usually takes 2–3 hours for buses to leave the parking area.
- Due to expected heavy crowds, the itinerary prioritizes fireworks viewing. Some parts of the schedule may be adjusted if necessary. In addition, bus safety regulations may require extended waiting times before departing from stations or hotels.
- Tripods may not be used above seated eye level during fireworks viewing. This is to ensure all guests can enjoy the show comfortably.
- Umbrellas are not permitted at the fireworks venue. Please bring rainwear such as a raincoat if rain is expected.
- Flashlights are strongly recommended, as the walking route from the fireworks venue back to the parking area is dark.
- Infants aged 0–2 years are not permitted to join this tour for safety reasons.
- Children aged 3–5 years may join for a special child rate. This does not include a Shinkansen seat, bedding, meals, or fireworks seating, only a bus seat is provided. Meals may be available only if buffet service is offered at the hotel and are subject to hotel discretion.
