Travelers interested in the famous volcano pizza experience may optionally stop near the local pizza area, where pizzas are prepared using volcanic heat and arranged directly with the local provider.

Important: We do not provide pickup from areas outside the central zone, such as El Hato, Santa Ana, San Bartolomé Becerra, Ciudad Vieja, San Juan del Obispo, San Pedro Las Huertas, Santa Inés, Santo Domingo del Cerro, Antika, or San Pedro el Panorama.
If you choose the meeting point option, please be ready 5 minutes before the scheduled departure time at Café La Parada, located in front of La Merced Church. The driver will ask for your name to confirm you’re boarding the correct vehicle.
What to expect
Along the way, you’ll enjoy views of nearby volcanoes, learn about Pacaya’s volcanic activity, and walk across solidified lava fields from previous eruptions. While red lava is not currently visible, you may observe steam vents and geothermal heat depending on volcanic conditions.
Since this is a private experience, the pace is more flexible than larger group tours, allowing extra time for photos, short breaks, and enjoying the landscape.
On some departures, travelers may also choose to stop at the famous Pizza Pacaya area, where pizzas are prepared using volcanic heat (optional and arranged directly with the local provider).
Morning departures are generally recommended during the rainy season for clearer weather conditions.
