Join us for a three-hour guided hike through Oslo’s forest trails, just outside the city centre. Designed with input from Viking history and folklore experts, this tour combines fresh air, scenery, storytelling, and a taste of Norwegian outdoor culture.
As we walk beneath the trees, your guide brings Norway’s past and present to life through Viking legends, folklore, trolls, and traditions that still shape everyday life today. Keep an eye out for hidden trolls as you discover myths passed down through generations.
We pass a popular ski hill while exploring Norway’s deep connection to skiing, before continuing to Trollvann lake. Here, we stop for Norwegian trail snacks and a hot drink, such as coffee or cocoa. There may also be the chance to swim, weather permitting.
Perfect for travellers who want to escape the city, reconnect with nature, and discover the stories within Norway’s forests.
Grefsenbakkene is part of Oslo Skisenter Grefsenkollen, a local ski area on the edge of the forest above the city. On this tour, guests pass close to the slopes while learning about Norway’s deep connection to skiing, winter culture, and outdoor life. The area helps show how easily Oslo residents move between city life and nature.
Trollvann is a peaceful forest lake in Oslo’s Grefsen area, surrounded by trees, trails, and hills. On this tour, guests will stop here for a light Norwegian trail snack and a hot drink, with the option of a refreshing swim when weather conditions allow.
Grefsenkollen is one of Oslo’s best-known viewpoints, offering sweeping views over the city, the Oslofjord, Holmenkollen, and the surrounding forest. It is a popular local hiking area and a beautiful reward after the uphill section of the walk.
