Most visitors come to the Baby Taj to admire its architecture. On this experience, we come here to meet the women behind the Mughal world.
Led by a storyteller, this walk explores the lives of Mughal women through the stories of queens, mothers, daughters, wives, patrons and powerful women whose influence shaped the empire. We look beyond the familiar names and monuments to discover stories of love, ambition, power, loss and resilience that are often missing from conventional accounts of Mughal history.
The Baby Taj provides a beautiful setting for these stories, but the monument is only the beginning. As we walk through its spaces, we explore the people, relationships and circumstances that shaped the world around it, bringing history closer to everyday human experience.
This is not a conventional sightseeing tour or a lecture on Mughal architecture. It is an intimate, story-led journey into a lesser-heard side of India’s history in a different way.

The Mughals proudly called themselves Gurkhanis or the son-in-law of the Khans. Babur's ( founder of the Mughal dynasty ) grandmother Aisan Daulat Begum protected him when he became king at the age of 13. Through this walk, we will look at the history of the Mughal empire through its women, how they contributed to the empire, and what their lives were like. And also understand why so less is said about them now even though they held high ranks in history written by Mughal courtiers
