Meet outside the Castle Mountain Chalets at the picnic tables located at the junction of 1A & 93 South, half way between Banff and Lake Louise, where we will complete an orientation and waivers before convoying 15 minutes to the trailhead.

End point
This activity ends back at the meeting point.

What to expect

This is a half day hike in the Canadian Rockies in the more remote Kootenay National Park near the boundary of Banff National Park. Hike up a previously glaciated valley with towering cliffs and glaciers above, learn about the history, flora, fauna, ecology, geology and geography of this spectacular environment.

  • Travelers should have at least a moderate level of physical fitness
