    Welcome to Quito Personalized reception at the Mariscal Sucre International Airport of Quito by the guide. Private transfer to the hotel for check-in and time to rest after the trip. Depending on the arrival time of the flight, you will take a panoramic tour of the city of Quito, where you can enjoy its impressive Andean landscapes and know some of its main attractions. In the evening, enjoy a welcome dinner and rest in top-notch accommodation, preparing for the Ecuadorian Andes adventure that begins the next day.

    From the Towing Cotopaxi to the Magic Lagoon of Quilotoa

    Cotopaxi National Park

    After breakfast, we will leave for Cotopaxi National Park, home to one of the highest and most iconic active volcanoes in the world. During the tour we will enjoy the stunning landscapes of the Avenue of Volcanoes, crossing extensive Andean moors and observing the flora and fauna characteristic of this ecosystem. Upon arrival at the park, we will visit the Interpretation Center and continue to the parking lot located at 4,500 m. From there we will start a hike to the José Rivas Refuge (4,864 m above sea level), where we will take a close look at the glacier of the Cotopaxi volcano and enjoy spectacular panoramic views.

    Laguna Quilotoa

    In the afternoon we will continue the journey to the spectacular Laguna del Quilotoa, one of the most impressive natural wonders of Ecuador. From the edge of the crater we will enjoy a panoramic view of its turquoise waters and learn about the geological and cultural history of this extraordinary place. Those who wish to do so can take a walk along the rim of the crater or partially descend into the lagoon to admire its beauty.

    Heading to the Giant of the Andes: Chimborazo, Ancestral Culture and Colonial Luxury

    Chimborazo Refuge Hike

    After breakfast, we will continue the journey south along the emblematic Avenida de los Volcanoes bound for Chimborazo, home to the highest volcano in Ecuador (6,263 m above sea level) and the closest point on Earth to the Sun measured from the center of the planet. Upon arrival at the park, we will visit the Carrel Refuge (4,850 m above sea level) and, for those who wish to live a high mountain experience, we will hike to the Whymper Refuge (5,000 m above sea level), enjoying spectacular moorland landscapes and the possibility to observe vicuñas in their natural habitat.

    Afterwards we will go to La Moya Community Tourist Center, where we will know the cultural richness of the Puruhá people.
