This self-guided narrated tour takes you along the historic crater trail, while sharing the rich history of Hawaii; from its volcanic formation and Native Hawaiian traditions, to its military role during the early 1900's. Learn how ancient Hawaiians considered Diamond Head a sacred location and how the US Military used Diamond Head for their first line of defense in protecting Oahu's southern shores during World War II.
Reservation and Fees for Entry and Parking are NOT included.
This tour DOES NOT include Admission/entry OR parking fees to enter Diamond Head State Monument. Kama’aina can enjoy free admission and parking with a Valid Hawaii ID. Parking is limited. For entry and parking reservations (must be made in advance) visit the Go State Parks Hawaii site.

This self-guided narrated tour takes you along the historic crater trail, while sharing the rich history of Hawaii; from its volcanic formation and Native Hawaiian traditions, to its military role during the early 1900's. You will experience panoramic views of Honolulu while learning about Hawaii's cultural heritage and natural beauty. Includes complimentary use of a handheld device, a tour map, and earbuds you can take home with you, giving you the flexibility to explore on your own schedule while enjoying a rich, guided experience. 2Diamond Head State Monument
RESERVATIONS REQUIRED: Diamond head State Monument Entry and Parking reservations MUST be made prior to your visit date. Visit gostateparks.hawaii.gov/diamondhead for all entry and parking reservations. Admission fee is $5.00 per person, and if driving into the crater, it is an additional $10.00 to park. Parking is LIMITED.

- Travelers should have at least a moderate level of physical fitness
- A four color map and guide for your hike to the Diamond Head summit
- Be sure to wear comfortable shoes, plenty of water and sun protection (hats, sunglasses, sunscreen)
