Before Your Tour
Tour Departure

Your tour is scheduled to depart approximately 15 minutes after your cruise ship docks, giving everyone time to disembark and meet their guide.

For example:

If your ship arrives at 8:00 a.m., your tour will depart at approximately 8:15 a.m.
If your ship arrives at 9:00 a.m., your tour will depart at approximately 9:15 a.m.

If all guests have arrived earlier, we may depart a few minutes ahead of schedule.

Because cruise ship arrival times can occasionally change, your ticket may display a specific departure time. Please disregard any printed time on your ticket. Your guide will meet your ship based on its actual arrival time.

To help ensure everyone enjoys a full day exploring Cape Breton, we kindly ask that you disembark as soon as possible after your ship arrives. If guests have not arrived within 30 minutes of docking, the tour will depart so as not to delay the experience for the rest of the group.

Meeting Your Guide

Your guide will be wearing a blue Cabot Discovery Tours shirt or jacket and will be waiting near your ship, typically between the cruise ship and the tour buses.

If you have difficulty locating your guide, simply ask a port volunteer or staff member for Cabot Discovery Tours, and they will be happy to point you in the right direction.

Cruise Terminal Information

The Port of Sydney has two cruise berths, and we will meet you at whichever dock your ship is assigned.

If your ship docks at Liberty Pier, please remain there. Occasionally, guests are mistakenly directed to the Joan Harriss Cruise Pavilion at the Main Dock. Please do not take the shuttle bus. Your Cabot Discovery Tours guide will be waiting for you at Liberty Pier.

Weather & Cruise Schedule

Our tours operate rain or shine. Cape Breton's weather can change quickly, and while we cannot guarantee clear skies or unobstructed views, our guides will adjust the day's itinerary whenever possible to provide the best experience.

The only circumstance in which a tour would be cancelled is if your cruise ship is unable to dock in Sydney. If your ship arrives in port, your tour will operate as scheduled.
