Experience one of the world's most unforgettable wildlife encounters with a team that puts safety, comfort, and respect for nature first.

Every summer, from May through September, the waters north of Isla Mujeres become home to the largest seasonal aggregation of whale sharks on the planet, offering an incredible opportunity to swim alongside these gentle giants in their natural habitat.

Unlike larger operations, our tours are limited to just 10 guests per boat, ensuring a more personal experience and plenty of space onboard. Our experienced local captains and knowledgeable guides work hard to locate the whale sharks while following all environmental regulations to protect these magnificent animals.

What to expect

Activity Description

After meeting at our shop at 7:45 AM, we will walk you to meet your captain and crew for the day.

This tour is a wildlife expedition focused on searching for whale sharks and manta rays in their natural environment. Sightings cannot be guaranteed, as these are wild animals and not kept in a controlled environment.

The boat ride to the whale shark area may take approximately 40–90 minutes depending on where the animals are located that day.

Once whale sharks are spotted, two guests at a time will enter the water with a guide while other guests rotate throughout the excursion. Each participant typically gets two jumps into the water. Life jackets are required during all whale shark interactions.

After the expedition, the boat will stop at a reef for snorkeling, followed by lunch at Playa Norte including sandwiches, ceviche, and cold beverages.

Return time to the island is typically between 2:30 PM and 3:00 PM depending on weather and ocean conditions.
