This area is home of the Chepang people who leads a semi-nomadic life also having rich culture traditions. Due to their distinct lifestyle and the remoteness of their homeland, this indigenous group belongs to marginalized groups of Nepal. This trek is designed to lead through the homeland of Chepang and their lovely villages in order to generate income possibilities for them and to raise awareness about Chepang culture among foreign visitors and Nepali people. The trail lies at a moderate altitude and in a comfortable climate zone.

Pick you up from your place and drive from Kathmandu to Hugdi Bazaar beautiful and scenic drive. From Hugdi Bazaar our trek begins with a (5 hrs) walk to Hattibang, a beautiful village with magnificent mountains views. Overnight stay at local homes in Hattibang.
We will walk to Jyandala, a beautiful Chepang village. We follow the trail through a vivid landscape and reach Siraichuli (1945 m) which is one of the highest hills of the Mahabharat range, from where you can enjoy spectacular views of Himalayan peaks including Rolwaling, Gaurishankar, Langtang, Gorkha Himal, Peak 29, Himalchuli, Manaslu, the Annapurnas, Dhaulagiri and others. Towards south lie the green jungles of the Chitwan National Park in the Tarai. Overnight stay at local lodge in Jyandala.
It takes about (7 hrs) trek from Jyandala to Gadi via Siraichuli and Chisapanitar. The trail leads you through an ever-changing landscape to Upperdang Gadi which used to be the headquarter of Chitwan until early 1962. The remains of a historic fort that defended the surrounding countryside are still in existence. Natural and the spectacular views make it an ideal place to stay overnight in local lodge.
It is about (4 hrs) walk from Gadi to Saktikhor. Shaktikor is another Chepang village and the center of the sustainable tourism initiative of the Chepang people. They established a Chepang Museum and a visitor's information center which both serves as tourist attraction and as educational service centers. Caves and waterfalls around the village invite you to stroll in the area. Overnight stay in Shaktikhor in local lodge.
We drive back from Saktikhor to Kathmandu which is scenic drive. Drop to your place or hotel in Kathmandu.
