Enjoy free time to wander through narrow streets lined with cafés, boutiques, and art galleries, while admiring the elegant architecture and shaded squares that give the village its unique character. Surrounded by vineyards, olive trees, and almond groves, Lourmarin has long attracted artists, writers, and intellectuals, including Albert Camus. Depending on opening times and your interests, you may choose to visit the château or simply relax and explore the village at your own pace (entrance fees not included). At the end of the day, your experience continues with a gourmet stop highlighting Provence’s flavors. From Monday to Saturday, visit a traditional olive oil mill in the Luberon region. Learn about the production process, from olive groves to pressing techniques, and discover how heritage methods meet modern expertise. A guided tasting allows you to explore different olive oils, compare aromas, and understand how they enhance Provençal cuisine. On Sundays, this visit is replaced by the Musée du Calisson at Confiserie du Roy René, near Aix-en-Provence. Discover the history of the Calisson d’Aix through an immersive exhibition dedicated to almond orchards, confectionery, and artisanal know-how. You will also have free time to explore the boutique and, if you wish, purchase local sweets.
