Kamakhya devi temple situated on the Nilachal parvat in Guwahati is one of the 51 Shakti Pithas of India and an important pilgrimage destination especially for Tantric worshippers. A stairway through a bazaar of colourful shops takes one to the temple. It is a monument with both historical and religious importance. Kamakhya Temple Darshan . kali temple, Dhumavati temple, Chinnamasta temple , Baglamukhi temple if time permits.

2Sri Umananda Temple
The Shiva- Parvati temple is situated on the peacock island in the midst of mighty River Brahmaputra.You need to travel by boat to reach the island and then walk up about 70 steps to reach the temple.The temple premise is kept clean.It was built by Ahom King during 17th Century.The island is smallest riverine inhabitated island in the world.

3Navagraha Temple Chandmari
There are nine Shivalingams, representing the nine Celestial bodies, each covered with a colored garment symbolic of each of the celestial bodies, with a Shivaligam in the centre symbolizing the Sun.It was learnt that this temple was built by Ahom King Rajeswar Singha in the late 18th century.

Basistha or Vasistha Temple is located in Beltola, at the outskirts of the Guwahati city. It is located near Garbhanga Reserve Forest. This place has certainly the most powerful and serene premises. The temple inside is very ancient and the name of the Ashram itself tells us that it has to do something with The great Sage Basistha. I really love going to this place whenever i visit my cousins in Guwahati.
