When conditions are safe, the cruise stop includes walking on the frozen sea and floating in icy water in a thermal survival suit. Choose Own Transport or a round-trip shuttle from Rovaniemi, Kemi and Tornio, or Luleå.

Meeting and pickup
Meet at the Arctic Explorer terminal at Axelsvik harbour, Axelsviksvägen 291C, 952 95 Båtskärsnäs, Sweden. Look for the Arctic Explorer icebreaker at the pier. For Own Transport, arrive at least 30 minutes before departure. Cruise departure times use Swedish local time.

Board the Arctic Explorer at Axelsvik in Swedish Lapland for a 2.5-hour icebreaker cruise through frozen sea ice. Explore the ship at your own pace with an onboard E-Guidebook while the local crew takes care of safety and the onboard experience. During the cruise stop, step onto the frozen sea when conditions allow. You can also put on a thermal survival suit and float in the icy water. The crew makes the final decision on all ice activities based on ice thickness, sea conditions and safety. Warm up with a hot drink on board. At the end of the cruise, receive a Cruise & Swim Certificate signed by the Captain.

- Suitable for all physical fitness levels
- Minimum height for ice floating is 125 cm.
- Bring a passport or national ID card. Wear warm clothing and winter boots.
- Ice walking and floating depend on ice thickness, sea conditions and the crew's safety decision.
- Cruise times at Axelsvik and pickups in Luleå use Swedish local time. Pickups in Rovaniemi, Kemi and Tornio use Finnish local time.
