Ol Donyo Sabuk National Park is a small but scenic mountain park located about 60–65 km from Nairobi near Thika. It is centered around Mount Ol Donyo Sabuk (Kilimambogo), a forested volcanic mountain that offers stunning views of the Athi Plains, Thika surroundings, and on clear days even Mount Kenya. The park is known for its quiet atmosphere, hiking trails, and wildlife.

A visit to Ol Donyo Sabuk National Park begins with an early drive from Nairobi through Thika into peaceful countryside scenery before reaching the park gate. Once inside, visitors are welcomed by cool mountain air and dense montane forest that immediately creates a calm, natural environment away from city life. The main activity is the hike to the summit of Mount Ol Donyo Sabuk. The trail passes through thick forest filled with birds, colobus monkeys, baboons, and occasionally buffalo or bushbuck. The hike is moderately challenging but enjoyable due to shaded paths and scenic surroundings. Along the way, there are small viewpoints and resting spots where visitors can take photos and enjoy the fresh air. As the hike continues upward, the forest gradually opens up, revealing wide views of the surrounding landscapes including pineapple plantations, rolling hills, and the Athi River basin. At the summit, visitors are rewarded with a breathtaking 360-degree panoramic view
