In Monte, you will visit one of Madeira’s most iconic locations, famous for its lush gardens, historic church. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to experience the world-renowned Monte Toboggan Ride (ticket not included), a thrilling tradition dating back to the 19th century, where skilled carreiros guide a wicker sled down the winding roads of Monte.
After the toboggan experience, your MadTuk guide will continue the tour through Funchal’s historic centre. Explore the colourful and vibrant Old Town, known for its painted doors.

Logistical & Pickup Policies
• Complimentary Pickup Zone: Free pickup and drop-off are available exclusively within a 2km radius of the Funchal city center. For locations outside this boundary, please contact the operator directly to arrange alternatives.
• Cruise Ship Port Transfers: Pickups inside the Cruise Ship Port require a strict 24-hour advance notice. In compliance with Madeira Port regulations, an additional fee of €3 per person applies, payable directly to the driver in cash.
• Payment Security: MadTuk personnel and vehicles are fully identified. Staff will never request additional payments, cancellations, or unauthorized service modifications, unless you explicitly request a tour extension or changes are forced by weather conditions.
Passenger & Capacity Restrictions
• Capacity Minimums: A minimum of 2 passengers is required to operate the tour.
• Weight Restrictions: Due to strict vehicle regulations and size constraints, the total combined weight of all passengers cannot exceed 250kg.
• Infant Policy: Children under 3 years of age are permitted only if secured in a personal baby sling or pouch.
Monte Toboggan Ride Information
• Ticketing & Payment: Toboggan tickets are not included in the tour price. They must be purchased directly at the venue, and the toboggan operators require cash payment.
• Operations & Scheduling: The Monte Toboggan is run by an independent private company. They reserve the right to close without notice due to adverse weather or excessive queues (frequently occurring during late slots)
Queue & Tour Duration: Standard lines can occasionally exceed 2 hours. Since the total tour is 1.5 hours, on these situations we suggest the premium on-site Fast Pass for immediate boarding to ensure you enjoy the experience without rush. Please keep in mind that significantly extended wait times beyond the tour schedule may require a modest vehicle extension fee.
• Recommendation: Booking an early morning slot is highly recommended to circumvent long wait times and potential closures.
