Kosgoda Sea Turtle Conservation Project
The Kosgoda Turtle Hatchery is the perfect place to catch a glimpse of the endangered turtles that visit Sri Lanka. The hatchery provides a sanctuary to turtle eggs and injured turtles; by rehabilitating them. To protect the population of turtles that visit the shores to nest, the hatchery collects and safeguards the eggs within their premises until they are ready to hatch and make their way back home to the big blue. You might even get a chance to release some hatchlings back into the ocean; making it the perfect holistic experience for anyone.

Damro Labookellie Tea Centre and Tea Garden
The Nuwara Eliya tea factory that we visited is called Damro Labookellie Tea Centre (former Mackwoods) and is the oldest tea centre in Sri Lanka. Their tea bushes are replanted every 100 years on over 5,000 hectares of lush tea plantations. In this tea factory, they make white and black tea, while the green tea is processed in another tea factory and then sent to Damro. All the different kinds of teas have different processes of making and you will be able to learn all about these processes if you do a tea factory tour.

Ramboda Waterfall

Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic
The golden-roofed Temple of the Sacred Tooth houses Sri Lanka’s most important Buddhist relic – a tooth of the Buddha.
