Siena Cathedral and Piccolomini Library Entry Ticket

1 hour (approximately)
Offered in: German and 4 more

Step inside one of Italy's finest examples of Roman-Gothic architecture — the enchanting Cathedral of Siena — and admire striking frescoes by Donatello, Michelangelo, and Pinturicchio. More than a million visitors pass through its doors every year, as impressive as Florence's Duomo, built between 1214 and 1263.

Don't miss the Piccolomini Library, built in honor of Pope Pius II, and explore the Duomo Nuovo (New Cathedral) too.

Look down as well as up: the cathedral floor is a work of art, featuring 56 scenes engraved in marble by 40 artists between 1369 and 1547. It's visible in its entirety from 27 June to 31 July and 19 August to 15 November 2026; at other times, some parts are covered.

A digital audio guide to the Cathedral's interior is already included with your ticket and can be downloaded as soon as you step inside. Travelers can also enjoy an extra digital audio guide to explore Siena and San Gimignano.
