What to expect

The experience begins with an introduction to the iconic Vietnamese phin filter and the different materials it is made from, such as aluminum, stainless steel, and ceramic, and how each one subtly affects taste.

Participants then prepare coffee the traditional way by lighting a small wood fire and boiling water using firewood. This step is both a preparation process and a meaningful cultural experience that brings back the nostalgic charm of Vietnamese coffee making.

During the class, you will brew and enjoy five Vietnamese coffee styles:

Vietnamese iced black coffee, bold and refreshing.
Bạc xiu, a sweet and milky coffee loved by many generations.
Coconut coffee, served in a real coconut shell with hand-shaved ice.
Egg coffee, featuring hand-whisked egg cream made using traditional tools.
Salted coffee, a coastal specialty finished with a creative chocolate design.
